Taste of India

Indian food: the best antidote to hangovers, hunger and the general humdrum of life, don't you think? Hongkongers love their Indian food, but normally it's a dine-and-dash lunch box (a "tiffin", my new term of the week) or a greasy old buffet that's more about quantity than quality.

Trust the Mandarin Oriental to serve up their version of Indian delights by hosting chefs Vinod and Ramesh Kumar from today until April 29. The chefs, who hail from the Imperial New Delhi's famous Spice Route restaurant, are bringing 18 of their delicious dishes to the Clipper Lounge's buffet at lunch and dinner, priced at $328 on weekdays, $358 for the weekend.

The Clipper Lounge is at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, 5 Connaught Road, Central, Hong Kong. Tel: 852 2825 4007. Check out Spice Route here.

  1. There is an Indian food place that just opened up across my building but it is not this much! It's about fifty a person but it's soo good. My husband and I catch ourselves going about twice a week since it opened!
