The life aquatic

Media lunches be damned. The best way to market a new dessert menu? Send waiters on wheels around Hong Kong to the media offices bearing trays of samples. I challenge anyway to deny a dessert that appears right by your desk.

Aqua, the lovely One Peking Road spot, is launching a new dessert menu, including goodies like Italian trifle; pineapple, almond and polenta cake; half-baked Valrhona chocolate fondant cake with vanilla; and everybody's favourite classic, tiramisu. They're sort of pricey at ballpark $100 a pop, but after sneaking the trifle home in a renegade paper bag and licking the martini glass clean in the privacy of my own bedroom, I'm willing to go out on a limb and testify: YUM. And if you're greedy (like me), then there's a platter with all six of their new delicacies combined.
