Flat-out Cool

When Celine proposed the flatform be entered into our style vernacular, the world eagerly cried "yes"! A shoe style that adds height without the painful incline of a traditional heel? What's not to like? In fact, it's only surprising that no one brought it into vogue earlier. The style seems naturally suited to the Hong Kong style crowd, as the look seems very reminiscent of that quirky Japanese-chic that is so close to our city's fashion heart, and local It-lady Hilary Tsui has certainly done her part in championing the look on her Liger blog.

For the brave, there are Jeffrey Campbell's bright colour-blocked versions (here and here); for the boho girl Theodora & Callum's cute pastel prints. And the classic would be something like Ash's black-on- wood combination or Calvin Klein's neutral sandal above. As summer must-haves go, this one's a no-brainer.
