A Shoe In

While both of us Geeks are slaves to consumerism, we each have a genre that we can’t resist a la shoes for ShoeGeek and bags for me except hkBagGeek just doesn’t sound as nice as hkFashionGeek hence I went with the more generic moniker. There was a moment in time when ShoeGeek temporarily infected me with her lust for shoes (the period where I bought 24 pairs of shoes in a year which doesn’t sound a lot but when you realise there are only 52 weeks in a year, that’s a new pair every other week) and she also lusts for bags which I unabashedly fuel her desire for by proclaiming its merits. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t like shoes it’s that I’m willing to spend more money on bags because I feel that my bags will last longer than my shoes seeing as I’m awfully careless and tend to scratch up my shoes on a regular basis.

And yes, there’s a reason for this post which is that Manolo Blahnik seems to have sense my problem with shelling out lots of money for shoes and so has teamed up with TOUS to create miniature pendants of his iconic Campari shoe (and we all know I have a fondness for miniatures, it’s like he reads Hong Kong Fashion Geek or something!) Prices range from HK$1,095 for a small silver pendant with chain to HK$13,105 18kt yellow gold with diamond pendant and chain.
