Got Beef?

Cookbooks have become somewhat superfluous in the age of the internet, since you can find pretty much any recipe you want via google, and high-res scans of your favourite cookbook online too. But they still make great gifts, so here's one for your friend the steak-lover.

Morton's the Steakhouse has just launched Morton's the Cookbook: 100 Steakhouse Recipes for Every Kitchen, the follow-up effort to 2006's Morton's Steak Bible.

Obviously, what's contained in its pages are... 100 recipes. For -- you got it -- every kitchen. It's not just steak, either. Expect mains, salads, soups, desserts and the famous sides, as well as wine and spirit recommendations. In addition, there are tales from celebrities and their picks for favourite dishes. Larry King and Val Kilmer are among those featured -- what, were you expecting GaGa and BritBrit?

Anyway, the pictures alone tell the story, and would make a lovely gift for a foodie... hint hint. God, what I would give for a piece of their chocolate cake right now.

You can buy the book for HK$295 at Morton's in Hong Kong or at Amazon.com. Morton’s of Chicago is located at The Sheraton Hong Kong, 4th Level, 20 Nathan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong; Tel. (852) 2732 2343.
