Promotional Feature: Cherish the Thought

I've never met a girl who didn't love a three-tiered afternoon tea set. For that matter, I've never met a boy who would say no to one either. There's something oh-so high-so' about sitting in a fancy lounge enjoying teeny-weeny snack bites over gossip and pleasantries. In the UK, the tradition of the dainty afternoon tea is long-lived, so much so that there's even a Tea Guild, one that sees fit to award leading pastry-makers will accolades such as "Top London Afternoon Tea."

While we in Hong Kong may not have such a developed mid-afternoon tradition (in my office, 4pm most often means time for an M&S gummy-bear run), we do still love a well-executed set of finger foods, so it's good news that The Langham, Hong Kong is hosting Top London Afternoon Tea 2010 winner Cheryl Finden, who hails from the hotel's sister property in England. Finden is known as an unparalleled pastry chef, whose renown has earned her spots on the judging panel of BBC's MasterChef: The Professionals and as a mentor on MasterChef Australia.

Her mean little bite-sized treats will be on offer at The Langham, Hong Kong's Palm Court between May 23-29, where Finden will be mixing things up for the traditional Tiffin Afternoon Tea, which is priced at $248.
