Lighting the Way

For those who have been hiding in a hole in Hong Kong, it’s ArtHK this week and there’s an explosion of art to be seen around town. I always find it slightly ironic that there’s always a group of people who suddenly go all artistic and cultural when it’s May and then come the other months, those who trumpet their love for art somehow doesn’t comment on any interesting exhibitions or shows that they come across. Pretentious much? Anyway, if you are hoping to avoid the crowds at HKCEC, head on over to the Espace Louis Vuitton in Canton Road for an interesting exhibition called “See the Light” which is currently ongoing and will continue until Oct 2011.

See the Light presents works from 11 artists who uses light as the medium and message and attempts to transform the viewer from thinking of light as, well a light source, and into something deeper. Artists featured include Qiu Zhijie, Kingsley Ng, Map Office, Jiang Pengyi, Tracey Emin, Leila Pazooki, Stephen Antonakos, Alan Chan, James Clar, David LaChapelle and Tsang Kinwah. So click on to be enlightened.
