Geek Peek: Charlotte Ronson

While her siblings have gone the musical route, Charlotte Ronson forged a path in fashion and her designs are often seen on celebrities such as Blake Lively, Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Richie, Joy Bryant, Kate Moss, and Beyonce. Linsay Lohen was also touted on the list that was sent over by the PRs but no clarification on whether this is still true post break-up from Charlotte’s twin sister, Samantha. We ask her six short questions on favourite things about Hong Kong (not counting the eponymous shop at Harbour City that was opened about half a year ago), worst nightmare and secret ambition.

HKFG: What’s on your lust list?
CR: A George Condo painting—I recently saw his exhibition, Mental States, at the New Museum in New York. I think his work is amazing.

HKFG: What fashion item can’t you live without?
CR: My Charlotte Ronson leather jacket from the Spring 2011 season. The more beat up it gets, the better it is.

HKFG: What is your favorite thing about HK?
CR: I personally love Hong Kong because it is such a welcoming place. The people have great style, and are extremely hospitable. I immediately understood why there is such a large expat community. They keep tradition alive but still have an international feeling. The city has great energy.

HKFG: What is your secret ambition?
CR: I love working with children, and if I wasn't designing, I would likely be teaching art to kids.

HKFG: What is your secret-weapon beauty product?
CR: My makeup must haves are Cle de Peau under eye concealer, Armani mascara, and Nars bronzing stick in Malaysia —for when I want a subtle glow. I like YSL, MAC, Josie Maran, Nars lipsticks and glosses, depending on my look.

HKFG: What is your worst nightmare?
CR: My greatest fear is not doing all the fun things I want to in life. The saddest thing is to live with regret because you are held back by fear.
