Geek Peek: Georgia Hobart of Hobes

Taking the Australian market by storm, Hobes by the lovely Georgia Hobart is a simple suede lace-up shoe that is a refined version of the classic 70s desert boot. Weighing in at 350g, these shoes are uber light making them the perfect companion when you are traveling or looking for flats that you can whip out of your bag after a long day in heels. Each pair is 100% handmade and when I took mine out for a spin, I was definitely impressed by how durable the shoes are even though they are super lightweight. We talk to Georgie about fashion items she can’t live without and her secret-weapon beauty product.

HKFG: What’s on your lust list?
GH: Where to start... a Mulberry Tillie snake bag, an Acne Smith Suede biker jacket, I’m desperate for a puppy at the moment... and I’d love a classic 1970’s Aston Martin. I have a thing for classic cars.

HKFG: What fashion item can’t you live without?
GH: Definitely my Chloe Marcie. Picked up this little lovely in Milan in September and it has been the best bag I have ever had. I can take it anywhere, it holds so much but never looks bulky and it works with any outfit. I am completely in love.

HKFG: Your secret ambition?
GH: To be the lead singer in a band. I’ve always wanted to be in a band. I started one when I was 12 with a friend from school. We both sand and played the guitar at lunch time in the school hall. We called The Running Taps – I’m not exactly sure why! It’s seriously cringe worthy now but at the time we thought we were pretty special!

HKFG: What’s your secret-weapon beauty product?
GH: YSL Mascara and YSL Touche Eclat Radient. And of course, lots of sleep, drinking plenty of water and avoiding processed foods, I stick to a diet full of fresh ingredients and don’t eat anything really that’s been processed – I believe this is the key to glowing healthy skin!

HKFG: What’s your worst nightmare?
GH: Getting stuck in an elevator or in any small enclosed space. I’m seriously claustrophobic.

HKFG: What’s the last thing you think about before going to sleep?
GH: Well I’m usually checking emails on my iPhone in bed just before going off to sleep, so it’s work that I’m thinking about before I sleep and usually what I wake up thinking about too!
