The Hong Kong Ballet has been kind enough to offer 20 free tickets to readers of Hong Kong Fashion Geek for the Choreographic Showcase next Sunday, April 17, at 8pm. All you have to do is email us at email@example.com with the subject "Hong Kong Ballet giveaway" to be eligible to win a pair of tickets. If watching Black Swan didn't get you itching to see ballet performers in actiion, then certainly these photos of dancers (after the jump) will -- their ability to contort into mindboggling shapes is amazing, to say nothing of the rather, er, athletically, aesthetically pleasing muscular figures. Details below. Winners will be notified via email on Tuesday of next week. RT the giveaway on twitter (make sure to @hkfashiongeek or @cko01 so we know!), or tag yourself in the poster uploaded on our Facebook fan page to get EXTRA entries. This contest is only open to Hong Kong residents.
The Hong Kong Ballet will be staging Choreographic Showcase 2011 on 15 & 17 April 2011 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s Studio Theatre. Inspired by the five elements, it will feature pieces choreographed by dancers from The Hong Kong Ballet, as well as works by guest choreographers Yuri Ng from Hong Kong, and Wang Sizheng from the National Ballet of China. Composed of seven dance pieces, The Hong Kong Ballet’s Choreographic Showcase 2011 takes the elements of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth as inspiration, highlighting their power to create, destroy, control and dissolve. Nature’s boundless power is a source of endless inspiration to our choreographers.
