Twitter Tips: Winter Comfort Food

After a scorching and humid summer, the weather is finally cooling down. This week, we ask you what your favourite comfort food is in HK and where to get them? Mine is Mac and Cheese.. I'm still on the quest to find the perfect one tho. Pictures above from Times Square's 798 and SEVVA.

  1. Honestly wouldn't have a scooby doo where to get comfort food in HK, cos all of it's yumtastic.
    I will say that homemase mac n cheese is best with bacon bits: Serves 2 and ready in 45 tick toks!
    * 1 handful breadcrumbs , fresh and chunky
    * olive oil
    * 1 tbsp butter
    * 1 garlic clove , finely chopped
    * 1 tsp mustard powder
    * 1 tbsp flour
    * 250ml milk - go for cream if you don't mind the calories
    * 100g Mature chedder , grated
    * 175g rigatoni or other short pasta
    * 4 slices streaky bacon , grilled until crisp

    1. Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Put the breadcrumbs on a baking sheet, drizzle with oil, season, and bake for 5 minutes.
    2. Melt the butter in a pan. Add the garlic and mustard and cook for 1 minute. Add the flour and whisk on a low heat for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, then bring to a boil, whisking. Reduce heat and simmer until thick (about 4 minutes). Stir in the cheese until melted.
    3. Boil the pasta until al dente, drain and mix with the cheese sauce and bacon. Spoon into 2 large ramekins. Top each with breadcrumbs and bake for 20 minutes until golden.

    Et voila! Will bear those twitter tips in mind for my visit next time.
