These are the type of shoes that you would call ugly-beautiful. Romantic, tortured but yet strangely sculptural and futuristic -- sort of like Edward Scissorhands, for some reason. I think that I would not wear them, but I might put them on a shelf for people to admire (it's not like I don't already do that with a pair of painful yet painfully beautiful Nina Riccis). It's such a ruffian beauty, totally bad boy from off the tracks, like you know fundamentally something is not right there, but you can't help but being drawn in spite of -- and sometimes because of -- the flaws.
