When ShoeGeek Christina and I both heard about the Cindy Sherman for MAC collection, we thought it was a brilliant idea. It’s unfortunate that since the news has been announced, the final collection shows that the collection has been renamed, to MAC Fall Color, and Cindy’s involvement has been limited to shooting the campaign promotional photos. Regardless, the photos are characteristically provocative and Cindy portrays herself as a morose clown, a Park Avenue Plastic Surgery Maven and a girl with distorted features. Showcasing the transformative powers of makeup, the campaign shots are certainly a departure from the usual pretty girl images but this is why we love it.
