London Calling

We're pretty lucky in Hong Kong; its fairly typical for high-profile designers and celebrities to show up in our city. But for a number of designers to show up all at once is something to be celebrated indeed. London Show Rooms brought together collections by E.Tautz, Jonathan Saunders, Marios Schwab, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto, Roksanda Ilincic and Todd Lynn at The Space in Sheung Wan, and all of the designers (except Saunders and Ilincic, shame!) showed up in person to support their work and play the show-'n-tell game.

Electricsekki's Priscilla organised a bloggers' meet and greet, where we were given the opportunity to ogle, manhandle and otherwise desecrate the clothing and shoes, as well as understand more about collections with info from the horse's mouth directly. There, we were able to fully appreciate the artful volume of Roksanda Ilincic's perfect bell sleeves, the mishmash of bold prints in conjunction with epic silhouettes by Mary Katrantzou, the comfortable arch of Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, the hidden technology behind any garment by Todd Lynn... a couple of the girls even decided to test-drive some of the pieces themselves. I, of course, being le ShoeGeek, made a modest beeline for the footwear.

Enjoy the photos below!

Todd Lynn and the killer cut-out jacket. Footwear is Louboutin for Todd Lynn.

No introduction necessary -- the vivid prints of Mary Katrantzou.
