Just in time for Christmas some extremely lucky people may be receiving some baubles with excellent pedigree -- those from the collection of Elizabeth Taylor.
The famed Hollywood actress died in March this year at the age of 79 and left an amazing array of jewellery that totals over 1,000 pieces.
Christie's will be auctioning off 80 of them in New York on December 13 followed by 189 other jewels the next day. Part of the proceeds from the sales will go to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
Taylor was an eclectic collector who did not follow a particular style, but only what she liked or what was the best quality. Of course many of her pieces were given as gifts from her various husbands which makes me wonder -- why aren't there more men out there like that!
The 80 pieces are currently on tour and will make a stop in Hong Kong November 25-27 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai from 10:30am to 3:30pm. Admission is free but with so much worldwide interest in the sale, there's probably going to be lineups to check out this amazing collection.
Check out the highlights of the upcoming sale tomorrow!
