Years and years ago, I was wildly entertained by the Unuseless Japanese Inventions book. The book recently came back to my attention given that the selfie stick was pretty much mentioned then and only came into mass consumption decades later. When I looked at the Spreadthat! butter knife, I am reminded of that book. Aside from the horrendous name, the butter knife seems like something that I really do need but also don't really have a use for. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to take out a block of butter and let it achieve room temperature before spreading? (A lot harder than it looks in our era of instant gratification to be honest.)
