Cashmere & Pedder Sale Review

People seem to love asking about sample sales, so here goes -- a bird's eye review of the Pedder and luxury cashmere sales happening this week.

I previewed the cashmere sale tonight, which is probably of more interest to most people since we're on the cusp of winter and sweaters are starting to seem oh-so-very necessary. Expect lots of basics -- cardigans, sweaters, tops and a handful of sweater dresses for women. There's also some jackets (down, wool, etc) and a small batch of vests, capes and shrugs. All in super practical colours: black, grey, nude, pink... Some men's, including sweaters, jackets and cardis mainly. Sizing pretty varied and I guess stuff is stretchy. This is where to go to stock up on winter basics.

Important note about address: the address is in Cat Street Galleries (mall-slash-office building) on Lok Ku Road near Pantry Magic... NOT near THE Cat Street Gallery on Hollywood Road. Different structures. Who knew. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I haven't gone to Pedder, but a fellow Shopaholics Anonymous member did, and she reported it's about half the size of the regular Pedder sale in Times Square. Besides shoes, there's a smattering of racks of clothes featuring Carven, J Brand, etc, and limited accessories and bags, including a few trays of leather gloves and fur hats. Apparently most of the boots went in the staff sale today but the selection of flats is strong. Pricing, as usual, is a bit on the high side, but there might still be deals to be found for those willing to put in time and effort -- I know you guys are out there.

  2. Sweaters range from 300 to 1000, depends on the materials. All are in practical colour but nothing special in style. Could get stuff of better value in other sample sales published previously.....pricing fall on high side. Not something people typically expected in sample sales.

  4. Didn't think pricing was super high, but I went early and found a wool moto jacket for $500. Admittedly lots of the stuff is pretty blah but at least it's practical and under $1000!

  5. 100% casherem (including vest, tube dress, sweater) all priced at $1000. Rest with 50% or above silk / wool are from 300 - 800 which people could easily find something similar at lower price in other sample sales.....or upstair wholesale shops in CWB, Jordon or Cheung Sha Wan.
