Uterque Uncovered

Was strolling through IFC yesterday and saw that another fast-fashion brand is hitting our shores -- Uterque. Was first introduced to the line by Adrian from Loewe when we were in Spain last March, but didn't really get a chance to explore it too much, so I'll be interested to have the chance to do it here soon. The brand is basically another Zara -- actually, I believe it's owned by the same company. It might be priced ever-so-slightly higher, but who knows once it gets to Hong Kong. When I was in the store in Madrid, there were lots of riffs on current trends -- leather (pleather?) tees, ankle boots with metallic Celine-y heels, printed silk dresses with suspiciously Dries-like leafy patterns... Let's see what next season brings, and check out the photos here from their campaign and lookbook.

  1. I was just in a branch of Uterque last week in Marbella. It's quite a lot more expensive than Zara but no better quality. It seemed to me to be competing with Bimba & Lola in style terms - i.e. aimed at the unsubtle glamorous older woman but without the quality. I thought it was very overpriced for what it was.

  2. Uterque is the "top quality" brand of Inditex group, which Zara belongs too so they are from the same company. Uterque was born as an accesories store but they are introducing also some clothes, but basically bags, shoes, scarfs, belts and jewlery. It has been created as the main competitor for Bimba & Lola which is another galician brand (from Galicia region,Spain).
