It's sort of unfortunate that the first show that Dior had to stage post-Galliano was couture. Couture was John Galliano at his finest, eschewing trends and direction for utter flights of fancy, whether it was Japanese kabuki or Willy Wonka's flower garden. I think it's why Dior hasn't been at the fore of covetable fashion these past few years, which I feel have very much been trend-possessed (must... wear... studs...). But now I guess it's neither here nor there. It's Dior, but it's not Galliano Dior. It's colourful and whimsical and checks all the boxes but it's just not the same. It's like breaking up with a boyfriend, almost -- it doesn't matter who comes along or what the new guy does, you're always going to think back to good old Johnny. Honestly, the shoes weren't bad, they're fun if a bit crass for Couture Week. It's just... sometimes the most creative guys come with a side of crazy. And I kind of think that's okay. Because sometimes people who aren't crazy just aren't as much fun.
But I've always been a Dior girl. And I have faith they'll come back.
That's what I call shoerotica! I might not be as crazy as Galliano, but I still think these cutes are just adorable!

And the green ball in the last picture reminds me of Shanghai Tang's signature jade details.
I think they're adorable still, but without the header, you wouldn't necessary realize they're Dior. And that's because Galliano was just... too iconic.
